 The ddp, a landmark of Dongdaemun market, has many monumental attractions. Among them, the Kansong Art Museum, which displays valuable cultural assets, will be an exciting tour course for anyone. Recently, Seoul Fashion Week, which is held every year since 2000 has become widely known as world’s top five fashion shows with collections in Paris, Milan, London, and New York. Such a fashion show is a strategic tool which cannot be overlooked in fashion marketing. Conceptually, one of the fashion shows is a channel of communication between fashion designers and customers where designers showcase new ideas through merchandise on live models. As a result, fashion shows can tend to be more conceptual and focused on a higher level of idea. K-pop, Hallyu and Star Marketing of Dongdaemun Style

Thanks to Hallyu (the Korean wave) and the growth of K-pop idols, Dongdaemun market is indirectly obtaining advertising & promotional performance of its products. As is widely known, Hallyu concept is used to explain the expansion of Korean pop culture and entertainment to the rest of the world. This was done through television, films, and music, in which K-pop enters. Among them, the most popular recently, BTS are a K-pop group made up of seven members such as Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V and Jungkook, who come from all over South Korea. They launched in 2013 and have since rocketed to global stardom. Unfortunately, BTS were forced to cancel their international ‘Map of Soul tour’ dates 2020, because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Next In Fashion (NIF) is a reality show and fashion design competition series debuting on Netflix in January 2020. Over ten episodes, eighteen designers compete in rounds based on design trends and styles that influence what people wear worldwide. + The winner of NIF, Minju Kim is from South Korea and started her own label in 2014 with her sister who runs the business side of the brand. We are very proud of her award. New star was born. Although the choice of patterns and colors is tricky, she seems to have been highly regarded for applying patterns and colors to her own style. The birth of such a star-class designer will give a stimulus to Dongdaemun designers. In Dongdaemun market, there are many people who design dreams.
